Location Flexible – Main Office, Wellington Position .

Yes, we will pay you the market rate.

What you’ll bring
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised construction or regulatory qualification meeting Regulation 18 (or the ability to become compliant).
- Proven experience in building consent processing and/or building inspections.
- Strong knowledge of the NZ Building Act, Building Code, and compliance pathways.
- Experience working with BCAs, councils, assessors, or similar (advantageous but not required).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills — including the ability to work constructively through compliance challenges.
- Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, workflow platforms, digital inspection tools).
Key Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility is the delivery of high-quality building regulatory services to clients. This includes:
- Processing building consent applications to a high technical standard.
- Conducting inspections (onsite and/or remote) if competent, or developing inspection capability with our support.
- Providing clear, supportive technical advice to homeowners, builders, designers, and stakeholders.
- Working alongside project teams and councils to identify compliance solutions.
- Supporting the development of junior staff through mentoring or peer review.
- Contributing to ongoing improvements in systems, templates, and workflow.
- Maintaining your competency through training and CPD.
You will work on a variety of projects — from small residential alterations to larger commercial developments.
