Farsight holds BCA registration and two key accreditations, reinforcing our unique position within New Zealand’s building regulatory sector:

• Registered Stand–Alone Building Consent Authority (BCA)

  We are registered by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) as a Stand–Alone Building Consent Authority under the Building Act 2004 and the Building (Registration of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2007.

  Our registered scope includes:

  •    New residential 1, 2 and 3 buildings
  •    Processing, granting and issuing building consent applications
  •    Inspection of building work while a building consent is operative
  •    Certification of building work (issuing Code Compliance Certificates)
  •    Issuing of Notices to Fix

  Through this registration, we are authorised to undertake building consent authority functions for approved projects within our registered scope.

• Accredited Building Consent Authority (BCA)

  In addition to our registration. we are accredited to perform building consent authority functions for Residential 1–3 buildings. This includes processing building consent applications, issuing building consents, undertaking inspections, and issuing Code Compliance Certificates and Notices to Fix in accordance with the Building Act.

• Accredited Organisation (Building) (AOB)

  We are also recognised as an Accredited Organisation (Building) authorised to assess building consent applications within defined scopes. This includes Residential 1–3 and Commercial 1–3 categories, where we provide recommendations on compliance with the New Zealand Building Code.
